About your computer

In this post I will show you how to gather information about your computer.

First off, there are a couple of ways to get this information. I will be showing you a couple of the easiest ways to get it.

This is how to get your processor speed, RAM and operating system.
Click on the start button

Then right click on My Computer and select properties


OR

Right click on My Computer on your desktop and select properties


A window like this should appear.
In the bottom right corner the computer speed, ram and OS should appear.

In this example the computer is running Windows XP Media Center Edition, an AMD Turion 64 processor, and 512 MB of RAM.

To get the size of your hard drive Click on Start


Go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter


You should see a window that looks something like this


All of your hard drives will appear in this window.
Using the picture above, you can see I have two 80 gigabyte hard drives and a USB drive plugged in.
